Hard water is costing you money

At 10-18 GPG, Tucson's water is some of the hardest in the country. Hard water causes scale buildup in pipes and water heaters, spots on dishes and glass, dry skin and hair, and shortened appliance lifespans. Common issues in Tucson water include: Hardness, TDS, chlorine, some PFAS.

What Tucson Homeowners Say

Reviews from your neighbors in Tucson

I cannot say enough good things about Clear Water Concepts/Absolute Osmosis! We live in North Tucson, where the water is extremely hard, so we shopped around and looked at several different companies before making our decision. Our sales representative, Moses, was excellent. He took the time to explain all of our options and discuss the different types of systems available on the market so that we could make a truly informed decision. At no time did we feel pressured to purchase anything, unlike some of the other companies we considered. The installation was exceptional as well. If you live in Tucson or surrounding area, ask for Mike as your installer! He has years of experience and took his time to make sure everything was done perfectly. I honestly don't think I've ever seen a plumber use a bubble level before—but Mike made sure every pipe was precisely level and professionally installed. He also carefully sealed any wall penetrations that were necessary and left the work area cleaner than it was when he arrived. After the installation, Mike took the time to thoroughly walk us through both our water softener and reverse osmosis systems to make sure we understood how everything worked. If you are looking for a stress-free experience purchasing and installing a water softener and/or reverse osmosis system, I highly recommend Clear Water Concepts/Absolute Osmosis. From the sales process to the installation, the entire experience was outstanding!

It’s been 4 days since the installation, and we are very happy with our new whole-home water filtration system from Clear Water Concepts. Both Moses and Michael were so personable and friendly to work with throughout the entire process. From the first appointment, Moses really understood our needs and recommended the right model for us—he was not pushy at all, which we really appreciated. Michael, who handled the installation, did a fantastic job and was incredibly knowledgeable. We felt bad for him because it was raining so heavily that day, but he powered through, finished the install, gave us a great overview of what to expect, and even hauled away our old water softener. We’ve already noticed a huge difference; our water used to be very hard, but now it’s crystal clear and tastes crisp and refreshing. Plus, the price was very reasonable compared to other companies we looked at. It’s essentially a 'set it and forget it' system, which we love. If you're shopping around for a filtration system, please give Clear Water Concepts a call—we highly recommend them!

I got a new water softener in 2022 through clear water concepts. It has worked great. Last week we noticed a few drops of water running down the front of the system. I called and they promptly sent out a tech named Michael Hughes. He was wonderful. He replaced a few parts to stop the drip. He cleaned up the area and left with no charges. (Much cleaner than before he came !!!). The warranty on the system is 10 years. Thank you!

Common questions about water softeners in Tucson

How hard is the water in Tucson?

Tucson water hardness averages 10-18 GPG, sourced from cap surface water + wells. This is significantly harder than the national average of 6 GPG, meaning scale buildup, dry skin, and appliance damage are common without treatment.

Do you serve Tucson?

Yes — Tucson is within our Tucson metro service area. Our nearest location is in Tucson. We offer free in-home water testing and same-week installation in most cases.

How much does a water softener cost in Tucson?

Water softeners for Tucson homes start at $1,945. Our three most-installed systems are Olympus On-Demand from $1,945, Sanitech Pro-Line from $2,645, Pantora Dual-Stage from $4,145. Most Tucson homes need a 48K or 64K grain system depending on household size and hardness (10-18 GPG here); sizing on our entry system runs 32K from $1,945, 48K from $2,145, 64K from $2,345. We confirm the right size with a free in-home water test. Every softener is backed by a 10-Year Part & Labor Warranty. Installation is quoted separately and starts at $250 for a standard installation to an existing softener loop. 0% APR financing for 9 months is available.

How long does water softener installation take in Tucson?

Most Tucson installations are finished in a single visit — a few hours when the home already has a softener loop, longer when we need to run a new line. We confirm the scope during your free in-home water test so there are no surprises on install day.

Does my Tucson home need a softener loop?

Many newer Tucson homes are pre-plumbed with a softener loop, which makes installation faster and less expensive. Older homes without a loop need a full line run to the main. We quote both options up front — see our loop vs. full-line guide for what to expect.

Is a salt-free conditioner a good option in Tucson?

At 10-18 GPG, Tucson water is hard enough that most homeowners want true softening. Salt-free conditioners reduce scale without removing hardness minerals, so they fit homes on septic or anywhere brine discharge is a concern. We recommend one or the other based on your water test, not a sales quota.

What maintenance does a water softener need in Tucson?

Mainly salt. Our Smart Salt Delivery program monitors your brine tank and delivers salt automatically, and our technicians service systems across Tucson and the Tucson metro. Beyond salt, a properly sized system needs very little attention.

Do you offer financing on water softeners in Tucson?

Yes — 0% APR financing for 9 months is available on every system we install in Tucson, and pairing a water softener with reverse osmosis saves $350 with our bundle.
