Superior Filtration Technology, Built In
The quality of your water comes down to what's inside your system. Every Clear Water Concepts installation is engineered around best-in-class components that work harder, last longer, and deliver measurably better water than the competition.
Technology for a Better Tomorrow
At Clear Water Concepts, we believe that technology holds the key to safer, healthier and better-tasting water. We also understand the importance of protecting natural resources in our native Arizona, and believe that technology is the key to successful conservation and environmental protection.
Our product line features some of the best water filtration and purification technologies in the industry. Our focus on eco-friendly technologies that balance optimum system performance with superior efficiency makes us the best choice for homeowners that care about their home's water quality and the environment.
Whether it's eco-friendly water softening or state-of-the-art whole home filtration, we have a system to meet your needs — backed by 28+ years of Arizona water expertise.

Centaur® Catalytic Carbon
Not all carbon is equal
Coconut shell activated carbon is the industry standard — a solid workhorse, but fundamentally passive. Clear Water Concepts installs Centaur® catalytic carbon exclusively in every filtration system we sell, engineered to actively break down the contaminants that standard carbon can only try to adsorb.
Coconut Shell Activated Carbon
High Surface Area, Passive Only
Coconut shell carbon has excellent micropore surface area for VOC and taste/odor adsorption — but it only captures contaminants. It cannot chemically convert or destroy them.
Poor Chloramine Performance
Chloramines — the primary disinfectant in Phoenix and Tucson municipal water — require extremely long contact times. Removal is slow and inconsistent.
Cannot Convert H₂S
Hydrogen sulfide (rotten-egg odor common in Arizona groundwater) can only be adsorbed — not chemically converted. Performance degrades rapidly.
Finite Adsorption Capacity
Once micropore surface is saturated, performance drops sharply. Requires more frequent replacement under Arizona’s high-demand conditions.
Centaur® Catalytic Carbon
Catalytic Activity — Destroys Contaminants
Engineered surface chemistry promotes chemical reactions, converting harmful substances into harmless byproducts rather than temporarily trapping them.
Faster Chloramine Decomposition
Breaks down chloramines significantly faster than standard carbon — critical for Phoenix and Tucson metro water, which relies heavily on chloramine disinfection.
Converts H₂S to Sulfate
Hydrogen sulfide is oxidized into sulfate — a harmless dissolved mineral. Rotten-egg taste and odor is eliminated at the chemical level, not masked.
Dual-Purpose: Filtration + Adsorption
Acts simultaneously as a mechanical filtration medium and an adsorption bed — delivering two stages of protection in a single media layer.
How It Works
Enhanced Surface Chemistry
During manufacturing, Centaur’s carbon surface is modified to develop unique catalytic sites — active zones capable of initiating chemical reactions, not just physical adsorption.
Catalytic Reaction
When contaminants like chloramines or hydrogen sulfide contact the active surface, the carbon triggers a chemical transformation — breaking molecular bonds and converting harmful compounds into benign ones.
Sustained Performance
Because catalytic reactions are not consumed the way adsorption capacity is, Centaur maintains high conversion rates over time — protecting your water more consistently across the life of your system.

Phoenix & Tucson Water Has Specific Challenges Standard Carbon Wasn't Built For
Arizona's municipal water supply is predominantly treated with chloramines — a disinfectant that standard activated carbon removes slowly and inconsistently. Arizona groundwater also frequently carries hydrogen sulfide, responsible for the sulfur odor common in Valley homes. Centaur's catalytic design decomposes chloramines faster and converts H₂S to harmless sulfate at the point of entry — before water reaches a single faucet in your home.
KDF Process Media
KDF 55 redox media is an available upgrade on select CWC systems, using electrochemical reactions to neutralize contaminants rather than simply capturing them.
99%
Free Chlorine Removal
KDF 55 removes over 99% of free chlorine by electrochemically reducing dissolved chlorine gas to water-soluble chloride ions.
98%
Heavy Metal Reduction
Removes up to 98% of water-soluble cations of lead, mercury, copper, and chromium.
3x
Extended Carbon Life
By removing chlorine before it reaches carbon media, KDF dramatically extends the effective life of downstream carbon.
✓
Bacteriostatic Protection
Controls the formation of bacteria, algae, and fungi in granulated activated carbon systems.
KDF media is available on select systems — not included as standard on all configurations. Ask your Clear Water Concepts advisor whether KDF is the right addition for your water profile.
Ecoflow Technology
Greener by Design
Most water softeners and whole-home filters waste water during the backwash cycle. Ecoflow technology solves this by increasing backwash flow rates to properly fluidize the resin bed — using significantly less water to achieve better results.
The Problem: Compaction & Channeling
During the service cycle, resin becomes compacted due to constant downflow. This creates channels where water flows without being properly treated — resulting in hardness bleed-through and reduced performance.
The Solution: Higher Backwash Flow Rate
Ecoflow increases the backwash flow rate during regeneration, providing greater lift to the resin bed. This expands and fluidizes the bed at a higher rate — eliminating channels and restoring full treatment capacity.
The Outcome: Better Water, Less Waste
The enhanced flow process requires less water to achieve a better result. The resin bed is more thoroughly cleaned, the system performs at full capacity, and 30% less water goes down the drain.
Standard on Every CWC System
Ecoflow technology is not an option or an upgrade — it is a standard feature on every water softener and whole-house filtration system we install.
