Using TAC (template-assisted crystallization) technology, it converts dissolved hardness minerals into harmless microscopic crystals that flow through your plumbing without sticking to surfaces. The second stage provides comprehensive carbon filtration, removing chlorine, PFAS, PFOS, and over 240 volatile organic compounds.
TAC crystallization + carbon filtration
Template-assisted crystallization works differently from traditional softening. Instead of removing hardness minerals through ion exchange, TAC media provides a surface where calcium and magnesium ions crystallize into stable, microscopic particles. These nano-crystals are too small to form scale — they remain suspended in the water and pass harmlessly through your plumbing. The carbon filtration stage then removes chemical contaminants for complete whole-house treatment.
