Salt Delivery FAQs
What is included in the salt delivery subscription?
With your subscription, you get a free Salt Sensor (leased), remote monitoring of salt levels, and delivery of up to 2 bags (40 lb each) per month as needed. Subscribers typically recieve a 4 bag delivery every other month. You may also order extra bags at $9.95 each if you exceed the 24 bag annual limit.
How does the Smart Salt Sensor work?
A small sensor sits in your brine (softener) tank and monitors salt levels in real time. It reports usage data via Wi-Fi so we know when you need a refill — no more guessing or running out. There is also an included companion mobile app if you want to self monitor.
Do I have to be home when the salt is delivered?
For the Essential Plan, no — we deliver to your garage, front door, or a location you designate. You’ll handle pouring the salt yourself. For the Premium Plan, we can optionally pour the salt into your brine tank for you, as long as someone is home or garage access is granted.
What happens if I run out of salt between deliveries?
Because the sensor monitors your level, we schedule deliveries proactively before you run out. In case of an unusual spike in usage, you can order extra bags at $9.95 each.
Can I cancel the service anytime?
Yes — our subscription is cancelable at any time. If you cancel, you can return the Smart Salt Sensor at no cost, or you can purchase it outright for a one-time fee of $129.
What’s the cost to keep the sensor if I cancel?
If you cancel with-in the first 12 months, and choose to keep the sensor, you pay a one-time price of $129. (If return is preferred, that’s free.)
Are there any hidden fees or surcharges?
No. You pay the monthly subscription rate, plus only what you choose for extra salt bags. No fuel surcharges, delivery fees, or surprise costs.
How do you decide when to deliver?
Our Smart Salt Sensor tracks your salt usage continuously. When levels drop to a threshold we’ve determined safe, we schedule a delivery. This way, you always have enough but don’t waste excess salt sitting in your tank.
What if the delivery is delayed (weather, traffic)?
We build in buffer time in our scheduling, and if there’s a delay, you’ll receive a notice. Our goal is always to avoid you running out of salt.
Can I adjust the number of bags delivered per month?
Normally the service provides up to 2 bags/month. If your home needs more (e.g. due to large family, frequent laundry, etc.), you can order extras at $9.95 each – a significant savings from typical retail purchasing.
Is the service only available in certain areas?
Yes — service availability depends on your location (e.g. Phoenix metro, etc.). Please check your ZIP code when signing up or contact us to confirm.
Does the service include maintenance or repair of my water softener?
Basic delivery plans do not include servicing — you’re responsible for the softener upkeep. However, the Premium Plan includes an extended labor warranty which covers repair labor.
What brands or types of softeners are supported?
The system works with standard brine–based water softeners that use granular salt. The Smart Salt Sensor is designed to fit in compatible brine tanks. If you have a unique or proprietary system, contact us to verify compatibility before signup. For our Premium service, the extended warranty only applies to products sold and installed by Clear Water Concepts.
What if I move — can I transfer service to the new address?
Yes, in many cases we can transfer the service to your new address (if within our service area). Just notify us in advance so we can update scheduling and sensor connectivity.
What happens to the sensor connectivity — Wi-Fi, signal, etc.?
The Smart Salt Sensor uses Wi-Fi to communicate. If connectivity is lost, it stores data until connection returns. If persistent issues arise, we’ll coordinate with you to restore signal or swap the unit.
